EM Item Groups

What is an Enterprise Merchandising EMS group?

Enterprise Merchandising EMS groups are lists of items selected by the BDM teams at EVIC for the purposes of promotion programming. In order to ensure that the correct lists of items are promoted together at our banners, the teams have created and maintain these groups for promotional set up and for banner pricing.

Why do I need my EMS item group data?

As the Supervalu BDM teams plan for ads and promotional events, they will use these groups in the planning process. By using these groups, we will have consistent application and standardization of the intended items for advertising and promotion. With our planning tools, we will be using a standard template across all departments at EM and the basis for planning will be our EMS groups. In addition, we will use Enterprise Merchandising EMS groups as the communication of the intended promotional program that will be in place with our suppliers.

Enterprise Merchandising EMS groups:

  • Provide consistent and uniform communication between suppliers and Supervalu
  • Single platform for promotion planning tools
  • Promotional planning accuracy in item lists
  • Banner accuracy in pricing groups

Utilization

On this web page, the link to the EM EMS groups is listed. Supervalu suppliers are able to access those groups in an excel format for use with the BDM team planning process. Each week Supervalu will update this list to reflect any changes in the EMS group with new groups names and data. The total item list, all UPC's and Supervalu items, is available through your BDM team and in most cases in ePromo functionality. The Enterprise Merchandising EMS groups listed on this website have included the name of the group, vendor data, primary UPC for the group and the categorization of the primary image item for the EMS group. For our planning tool, this file will allow you to use the correct EMS group name for each of our suppliers. As you begin to plan with Supervalu with the Enterprise Merchandising EMS groups, please contact your BDM with questions or concerns.
